Zero. 1. The Scope of the Paper. this text is principally dedicated to the oper ators indicated within the identify. extra particularly, we examine elliptic differential and pseudodifferential operators with infinitely tender symbols on infinitely soft closed manifolds, i. e. compact manifolds with out boundary.
So much built economics exhibit the tendency of an expanding value of contemporary providers comparable to tourism, logistical companies, finance, and others. in lots of situations, complicated optimization difficulties are available during this context, and the winning operation of recent providers frequently is determined by the power to resolve the bought optimization versions.
The Parvoviridae were of accelerating curiosity to reseachers long ago decade. Their small dimension and easy constitution have made them ame nable to specific physiochemical research, and from this paintings particularly specific info has resulted that has signficantly elevated our un derstanding of the biology of those viruses.
The current quantity comprises 17 lectures of the forty-one st Mosbach Colloquium of the Gesellschaft fiir Biologische Chemie, held from April 5-7, 1990 at the subject "The Molecular foundation of Bacterial Metabolism". From the start it used to be now not the purpose of the organizers to provide a accomplished account, yet relatively to choose new, fascinating development on occasionally unique reactions of in particular bacterial, commonly anaerobic metabolism.

(1978) 121, B14 36 ON THE INTERPRETATION OF LIPID MEMBRANE COOPERATIVITY DATA Stefan Stankowski and Bernd Gruenewald Biozentrum der Universitat Basel, Switzerland Information about the cooperative character of phospholipid phase transitions can be deduced from the evaluation of transition curves. Especially for temperature-in- duced transitions of liposomes and vesicles a considerable amount of data has been accumulated. Using calorimetrically determined enthalpy changes, so-called "cooperative units" can be obtained from the midpoint slopes of the curves.
The ESR as well as the optical results can be explained by assuming partially oxidized polymeric structures. e concluded from the g-values. The structure of the spectra can be attributed to the hyperfine interaction with adjacent 195pt nuclei. While the g-values of the colored Pt complexes are similar for certain classes of species, the optical spectra seem to depend on the ligand used. There is a great influence of the ligands on the energy and intensity of the optical absorption bands in the visible wavelength range.
Penka and W. Lohmann Institut fUr Biophysik Justus-Liebig-Universitat Giessen Strahlenzentrum, Leihgesterner Weg 217 6300 Giessen, FRG. Derivatives of nitroimidazoles are used succesfully as radiation sensitizers in clinical application, animal experiments, and cell cultures. Their molecular mechanism of action is, however, still unknown. Since the nucleic acids seem to be the primary target of radiation, the effect of some nitroimidazole-derivatives (Ro 07-0582, Ro 05-9963, Ro 07-1051, Ro 07-0207, Ro 11-3696) on nucleobases (adenine, uracil, cytosine) and nucleosides (adenosine, uridine, cytidi'ne) irradiated with 60co-y-rays was investigated spectrophotometrically.
